"Network have delivered a site that not only meets our requirements, it exceeds our expectations. Their response to our complex and precise technical brief has been met with professionalism, enthusiasm and an efficient 'can do' attitude that has made the whole process an enjoyable and rewarding experience.  We're extremely pleased with our new website and look forward to future collaborations with Network Design."

The client: Institute for Manufacturing (IfM)

  • Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) is the Manufacturing and Management Division of the University of Cambridge's Engineering Department.

  • Integrating research and education with practical application in industry.

The brief:

Web design and development - update to design templates and additional functionality

What we did:

The IfM website is an important source of information for a diverse audience including industry, research collaborators and prospective students. It contains approximately 9,000 pages of content and has over 11,500 hits per day.

Network designed and developed a bespoke content managed website to fit the IfM’s extensive technical brief. Functionality was maximised  to encourage interactivity with IfM including resource downloads and upload of media files.

The site redevelopment achieved the objectives of maximizing performance with a high volume of traffic, providing a creative but cohesive on-line presence, improved communications internally and externally and easily managed content in house.

Network continue to work with the IfM and in 2016 we launched a new design for the site to bring it more in-line with the Univeristy templates that are used across Departments. The new design incorporated modifications to the site functionality to allow for more cross referencing between sections and ultimately a site that works responsively.
